Hi, I am currently using the Macbook 2015 and it is often slow to run Capture One & Photomechanic on 8gb RAM at 1.3ghz chip. However, the 2lb weight is perfect for my heavy backpack and this makes up for the delays when moving sliders in Capture One or when editing is slowed down when you exporting JPEGs from 24 megapixel compressed RAW files in C1. I wanted to wait for the 2019 Macbook since it will probably provide 16gb RAM, faster SSD and faster CPU but no suck luck during WWDC. However, I am tempted to get a fully loaded Macbook Pro 2.8ghz i7 with 16gb ram and 512gb SSD. I want to have a machine that can handle heavy workload (editing images as other images are being exported for instance) during deadlines where images need to be turned around quickly. I also want enough RAM so I can run two photo apps without page outs. My 2015 Macbook bogs down when I am doing multiple things and I wonder if the 2017 Macbook will be able to handle my photo workflow. The only issue is the MBP weights a pound or more than the 12" Macbook. Lastly: is the 2.8ghz i7 worth the $300 upgrade over 2.4ghz i5? Thanks.
