Sorry if I missed it somewhere but are they using Intel modems for the iPhone 11 Pro and Max?

Reason I ask is I’m currently using an XS Max and have had connectivity issues since day 1. Some have had no issues at all and some had.

Are the same modems from XS and XS Max being used in the new Pro models or did they update it? I saw an article stating LTE speeds is 13% faster on the new models but not sure if that’s just marketing.

I regret selling my original iPhone X everyday. I suppose no one will know until a tear down is completed.

We'll know for sure when the teardowns are done, but I have not seen any news that Apple is using Qualcomm radios this year. Most rumors suggest they won't be used until next year with the 5G radio.

I cant site source but someone said something other day that part of Apple and Qualcomm's court agreement said they couldn't use their modems this year but next year could or were.

Thanks. I’m hoping it’s at least a newer model or updated Intel radio then. If it’s the same then that’s a no go for me!

All we can hope is that Apple improved the antennas, as I would expect it to have the same intel modem. I doubt intel was doing much in the way of improving the modem prior to Apple buying them out.

I hope it’s Qualcomm or at the very least an updated Intel, because the reception on my iPhone sucks in bad reception areas, when I’ve never had this issue with other iPhones.

It won't be Qualcomm until 2020. This is a well known fact.

But will over all signal and service day to day be any better

Remains to be seen.

It is the newer chip, and hopefully has better reception than last years model.
