Hi guys,
My 13 inch MBA has a problem - the display shrinks into two lines, then one line and at the end into a dot.
When starting, I can see the logo and progress bar together with the two lines - one vertical and one horizontal. After that only one horizontal line and at the end just a dot.
I opened the bottom and unclipped/clipped the screen cable but this did not help.
Also did all resets.

Do you have any idea what might be wrong and what can I do to fix it?

Thank you in advance!

I'd say a faulty TCON or display cable. But that's all integrated into a glued together display. So, that means a display replacement. Which is generally way too expensive to be worth doing. Especially on a model with the defective butterfly keyboard design. I'd just sell it for parts or repair only on eBay. You'll probably get $200 for it.

Thank you, velocityg4, for the prompt reply!
In the meantime I disassembled it and checked the screen cable between the motherboard and the display. Looks good.

I still would like to try to rescue the MBA, as it has very little usage time (even though I know these are not quite loved by purists).
So, if I understand you correct, a new screen, right?

Yes, but I’d plug it into an external monitor or TV first. Just to be certain it isn’t the motherboard. But I think it’s the display.
