I'm debating this same question, but coming at it from a little different perspective. I have a 15" 2015 MBP and a 13" 2017 MBP. The 15" is my work horse and I use it with Final Cut, Lightroom and Pixelmator Pro. My favorite computer however, is the 13" MBP. Whenever I'm at home reading emails, surfing the net, or watching Youtube videos it's my go to machine. I also choose the 13" when I have to travel, although I don't really travel all that much. I'm planning on upgrading one of these machines, but I'm having a tough time figuring out which one to buy. The 8 core 15" MBP would be a great upgrade for my work, but I'm wondering if the new quad core 13" might encourage me to use it more for photo and video projects.

One other consideration for me, is that since the 2019 13" isn't that much faster than the 2018, if I decide to upgrade the 13" machine I could buy one of the discounted 2018 models.

I’d say get the new 15” and keep the 2017 13” for web / emails. If you can afford it of course.

Yes, I'm leaning towards the 15" as I think I'd really appreciate the speed increase. Especially on my Final Cut projects.

As far as the price goes, that brings up one other consideration. I save up credit card points from my personal and business cards and then use those points to buy Best Buy gift cards. I obviously save a lot of money this way, but it means that I can only buy standard configuration computers. I want 16GB of RAM, but that's usually only available at BB in the 15" MacBook Pro.

But maybe that’s because I’m used to lower need 13” from the past. It is fun playing with these. This afternoon will be the 13”-2019

Went to see the new MacBook Pro’s today.

The 15” looks huge to me. I’ve been using the 13” for 2 years so I’m used to that size, the 15” almost looked comical to me. Funny what you get used to.

I’ve ordered the 13” with 512gb / 16gb today, pain that it’s CTO as takes few weeks.

Its amazing how quickly you get used to the size. I bought a second hand 15" about 3 months ago and it just became the norm.

These last couple of days I've been using a 13" and it seems tiny, almost like a 12" MacBook in comparison.

The BTO thing is a bit of a pain, I'm really surprised Apple don't appear to have the 13" available in 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD off the shelf so to speak.

The 2018 13" does seem to be a nice balance of power and form factor. Unless you need the 8 core performance I definitely thing people should check out the 13s.
