I've just gone from a 2014 13" to a 16" 2.4 i9 32GB 2TB 8GB GPU and paid £3239 on the refurb store which is a £660 saving I believe. Did think about the 13" but the price climbs to 16" prices quite easily.

Can't wait til tomorrow :)

Is your 16” arriving tomorrow? I’m thinking the 13th for the 14” launch because of the recent launch pattern.

In the same boat- all the threads about the 16 kernal panics, restarts, GPU switching lag, etc have put me off. I’m on a late 2016 13” which just had a keyboard replacement / screen replacement under warranty a few months ago (basically they just kept the internals, and I got an entirely new body). I can wait and will either get the next iteration of the 16” or the rumoured 14” - whichever comes first. 13” has been good, but even 14” would be a big step up.

They don't have that many problems. It is pretty rare. But whenever something does happen, people get vocal and complain. It is statistical skewing.

Same concept as how a minority of very old people started dying from coronavirus and people extrapolated that it was a more frequent problem than it really was. Statistical skewing.

Intel's new Tiger lake laptop chipset/CPU is due to appear at the end of the year so I suspect we're looking at 2021 before we see a 14" mini-led based MacBook Pro.

Could be wrong but it strikes me that Apple wouldn't have updated the 13" MBP last month if they were going to refresh it again this year?

My current computer is faulty so I NEED to buy a new computer now and can't wait another 6-12 months for something that may not even appear!

Buy when you need to get a new computer! Not just because something has an inch larger screen, 20% more GPU/CPU performance or slightly faster WiFi.
