2019 MBP 2.4 GHz i5 or 2.8 GHz i7?

There are many threads comparing the 1.4 to the 2.4 GHz processor in the 13" models but I haven't found any comparing the 2.4 to the 2.8. I'm looking for the quietest of the two fanwise. Any thoughts? Thanks.

tl;dr - Not worth it. The "slower" model turbos up to almost the same speed. + cooling limitations.

The 2.8 has much better single core performance. So if that’s something that is important to you it’s worth it.

10% on bursts.
on sustained loads both get knackered to 3.x GHz.

In an ideal world the 2.4 is good enough, I wanted 16GB and 1TB so it would have meant waiting a few weeks - they have that spec with the 2.8 in stock in store so that's what I went for

Best Buy and Apple stores here in MA have a one week wait for any 2019 13” MBP with 16+ GB RAM so I ordered the 13” 2.4 GHz 16 GB RAM model on the Apple site last night. Also a one week wait.

Replacing a mid-2013 MBA that I really love and is still going strong but bottoms out memory-wise all the time.
