There are many threads comparing the 1.4 to the 2.4 GHz processor in the 13" models but I haven't found any comparing the 2.4 to the 2.8. I'm looking for the quietest of the two fanwise. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I think Max Yuriev did a video recently. Or MaxTech.

tl;dr - Not worth it. The "slower" model turbos up to almost the same speed. + cooling limitations.

The 2.8 has much better single core performance. So if that’s something that is important to you it’s worth it.

In an ideal world the 2.4 is good enough, I wanted 16GB and 1TB so it would have meant waiting a few weeks - they have that spec with the 2.8 in stock in store so that's what I went for :)

Best Buy and Apple stores here in MA have a one week wait for any 2019 13” MBP with 16+ GB RAM so I ordered the 13” 2.4 GHz 16 GB RAM model on the Apple site last night. Also a one week wait.

Replacing a mid-2013 MBA that I really love and is still going strong but bottoms out memory-wise all the time.
