PAPO

So I have been on the search for a new wallpaper, I found something but needed to edit it. I looked up the screen resolution in "About My Mac" and its 2880x1800; COOL. I finish editing my wallpaper, it's a little wide but it's the EXACT hight, when I set it to "CENTRE" it's NOWHERE NEAR the right size.

Note: Still running Mojave, not giving up 32Bit support, Dashboard, or iTunes.

Am I Missing something? I know I'm being a little pedantic, but I prefer my wallpapers to be the same size as my screen and just fit it 1:1 and it's been a while since I changed my wallpaper, but I'm pretty sure "CENTRE" is the right setting for that if the wallpaper is the right size...

What's the resolution of the wallpaper vs the display's?
I literally generated a test wallpaper (to check my sanity vs the nice one I made) that was 2880x1800 (the resolution reported in about this mac) and when I choose "CENTRE" it does this:

What about the other options?

They fill it in different ways, my point is am I missing something when it comes to making a wallpaper that is already the same resolution as my display...

The one that I edited from an existing wallpaper ended up a TINY bit wider than what my screen should be, so I figured centre would just fit it top and bottom and I'd loose a little evenly off each side... is it too much to ask that a wallpaper the same pixel count as my monitor fits my monitor with NO scaling or stretching???

Try matching the exact resolution of the screen. Perhaps that extra width is undoing your work.

like I said I made one that was an EXACT match as a sanity check, that's the one in the screenshot... I probably could have been clearer, the white is the edge of that test wallpaper, and the grey is the system background.

chiming in to say I know it can be done. I made custom wallpapers for 2560x1440 but i think I did use fill because you need to

It's been a LOOOONG time since I changed the wallpaper on my Mac, but am I really finding out this is something Windows does in a more sensible way??? lol, especially when scaling is so bad on windows, and had been fantastic on mac for so long
