I'm on Safari 14.0.1 and it's still a bit iffy. I use Rain alarm, and it has now decided not to run it. I also use a puzzle app and it won't run that either. I did download the latest Avast browser, but that's still got problems. I used to use Firefox. Any views on a good alternative to Safari?

Ok; so I updated my 13" MacBook Pro (2015) yesterday and am experiencing just one frustrating issue. I use Hotmail/Outlook through the web browser. I've done so for about 20-years. Very rarely encounter any problems. However, this morning when I start a new email and try attaching files, there is simply no response whatsoever when I click on Browse this computer. Screenshot below. Surely a simple fix. But I don't know what it is! I haven't changed any settings etc.

Anyone got any ideas..?

I have the same issue. Seems to be Safari itself as it works in Chrome and Firefox.

Sadly, a known issue in safari 14.0.1.

From https://mrmacintosh.com/category/10-14-mojave/
"You should NOT install Safari 14.0.1 if you use Safari to upload or attach anything."

There are some workarounds listed on that article too. I use FF / Chrome, so can't vouch for the Safari workarounds/solutions.

It wasn't an issue known to me! Oh well. I decided to hold off updating for a couple of weeks and after looking through comments on here, most people seemed to be saying the update had gone well. I only found out about this issue today. I guess in future before I do any updates I should check out Mr Macintosh's website! :)

Apple will fix this soon, won't they?

Although the 006 Update needs no modification and runs natively in a Patched install. The now simplified process was a Total Fail after spending weeks in Mr. Macintoshs' forums, Youtube videos and combing through here trying to update my main Operating partition. I get a Boot Screen and the "Progress Bar" goes all the way to the end after a while and nothing else now even after reverting to the base 10.14.6 18G103 install that I have done a billion times successful. And <rant> since CCC trashed and corrupted a multi-drive Cloning to a new set of WD Black Drives, also trashing the source drives and having had "words" (as per Bombich from his end), I can not in good mental health after years of using CCC for flawless clones, use it anymore. I have no idea what other dmage I'll have to clean up. Plus he refunded my money and called me "impossible" to work with to investigate and resolve the issues after years of successful occasional interactions. This was after I called the new version of CCC, his baby, that I bought, "Fancified" and he got all Kindergarten on me. That "was" the only app I have ever been able to depend upon and could use blindly. That was until the "fancification". Although I got my money back, not having asked for it. Part of his tantrum. It doesn't cover the damage and expense that I have and will have to recover from. </rant>

I'm now pretty much stuck with the Newer 10.14.6 install that I made a while ago on a new WD 4TB Black 7200RPM Drive in the S0d2 partition not being able to move into since I can't reinstall Office 2011, yet, since CCC didn't bring over the files cleanly like it use to. Surprisingly the new partition as far as the Software Updater is concerned is up to date and it's the same as where I'm coming from which wouldn't update. Although the OS is Build is only 5033 and I have seen higher build numbers. In there now and it is working great. All I have to do is get one of the two copies I own of Office 2011 installed and working after updating it to the latest version to support my database.

I have never had so many problems with dealing with, updating, even considering the SecUpdate2020-005 and Safari 14.0.1 (that I don't even use).

Curious, I use gfxCardStatus to manage Intel vs. NVIDIA graphics on 2012 15" MBP. Since last update, MBP switches to NVIDIA whenever Safari is launched (previously, this did not happen): anyone else, or is anyone aware why this might happen? Chrome and/or Edge do not exhibit this behavior, so thinking was last Safari update. It doesn't hurt anything, as I said, just curious.

Ok...so last night after making sure I have a cloned HD just in case of failure...I uploaded 2020-05 and the 2020-06 and Safari 14.0 but NOT 14.01 because I need my flash player and be able to use attachments on my Email. It loaded ok and had to do repeat shutdowns and startups to make sure everything sticks between every little update. So far it is running ok..long bootup time because of indexing but afterwards it gotten faster. External HD still has trouble loading a startup just like the 2020-04 update. But then quickly shutdown and reboot and then the HD is recognized. Got my info from Mr. Mac website, using Supplemental update first for Safari 14.0 then 2020-06 in that order. Also had to upload 2020-05 first before 06.

On a third partition I did the "Base" 18G103 install and ran 005 and 006. Then ran the Migration Assistant off the partition I can't get into. Working great. Although I have 14.0.2, I am staying with Safari 12.1.2. I've never used it.

Things are working great. Except for not fully booting off the selected Start Up partition. Have to go through the Start Up Manager, Option Key during startup, where it is selected and I just have to hit enter. Probably need to re-Bless it.

Safari 14.0.2 for macOSMojave Beta 2 still has the attachment problem.

Sometimes it helps to double click the attachment button.

Reported to Apple as FB8939144

So I have had to retreat to my "safe haven" install that has the 12.1.2 version of Safari on Build 18G6042 (005 & 006 no anything with Safari). I have Software Update keep telling me that it has:

Screen Shot 2020-12-13 at 5.39.46 PM.png

Should I run this and just hope not to have any issues or will I not have any issues? Or just ignore mentally since we can't do the Terminal Ignore anymore?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you . . .

The top macOS Supplemental Update is actually Safari 14.0 and the other three is to be avoided if you want have attachment capability in Safari. After that you will have to switch to Firefox or Chrome to use attachments. I have 2020-06 and 14.0 but then I stopped right there.

Official 14.0.2 fixes the attachment issue.

I installed it without Security Update 2020-007.
not for me, sad to report ... the -007 security update showed uo by itself and I installed.
Then I came back here and saw that some folks reported on 14.0.2 and I went back to SW update and there it was, installed but still cannot upload files, while it works here on MR, gmail and other sites do not work

See 2020-007 then supplemental update does the supplemental need to be installed before 007?

I did 2020-07 supplimental and updated without my external peripherals turn on because of missing drives. Going to see if this update will recognize my drives after a few days.Im staying with Safari 14.0 and skipping 14.01 and 14.02 till they figure out the attachment option on Safari. Still have CCC at 2020-06 as backup.

The file attachment issue is all over the Apple Discussion boards. I tried 14.0.2 but it did not fix the problem. I re-installed Mojave from Internet recovery which yielded 12.1.2 and then did the 007 update and now have 14.0 which works.

I never understood what people meant about the attachment problem as I have always dragged and dropped onto Choose files buttons. It was only when someone on a forum said it was not letting them upload I tried it and discovered what they meant. I guess Apple developers must drag and drop too?
