Any thoughts on the video quality while watching a movie on the iMac? While testing out my external speaker placement, I started a 4K HDR movie from Apple TV, and was surprised at how grainy the image was at times.

Found some documentation on the web confirming the new screen supports HDR, but I couldn't find any settings about it on my machine. Contacted Apple support, and the person I spoke with was stumpted a bit too, until he went away for a few moments and came back with the answer that the computer automatically displays in HDR if the content is available.

I thanked them for their time, but not sure if I believe that answer. Curious if anyone else has seen the display as less-than-stellar for video replay?

Watching 4K Apple TV on my 2020 iMac looks great, certainly not grainy. Now...it's not as good of a picture as my high-end TV (particularly as to HDR and Dolby Vision), but didn't think it was grainy or blurry. Are you sure nothing was limiting bandwidth/resolution (provider, ISP, network speed)?

No, shouldn't be that...I am getting 350mbps down speed. Maybe I am just used to my television with the HDR display...or it could be just the fact that I am right on top of the monitor compared to being further back when watching a TV.

The display in general looks great, and picutures are clear as a bell...so maybe I am just being picky.

Thanks!
