No. I haven’t watched qualifying since 2016 I don’t think? I haven’t seen a full race for probably 2 years now despite following the sport on pretty much a daily basis.
I like qualifying. Kind of fun. They should award points for the top 10. Then some teams who have no chance in the race could set up just for that.

It’s easy enough to do. I’m not on social media so just avoid the thread on here for a few hours and I’m good to go.
I’m on social media though so it’s not as easy for me. Plus I go to work in the days before I get around to watching any highlights and people mention the result.

I always watch them at the weekend before I go to work. Otherwise I’d have the same issue as we have a number of F1 fans at work.

Yeah but as I said the highlights are sometimes on too late on a Sunday night to watch before Monday morning. I haven’t got the luxury of being able to stay up until 11:30 when I have work the next day. I just think the whole highlights situation is a load of crap to begin with. Channel 4 delivered better coverage than Sky for live races yet here we are with a micro viewership due to PPV. How to kill the interest in what was already a niche sport.

Agreed. I don’t mind staying up. But there is usually 1-2 races a season when I don’t see it all!

So I spent the year learning iOS development and wanted to make something useful. So here's something for you all. TheRacingLine.

  • Custom notification when a race is about to begin. Select the series you want notifications for, and how long before the race you want the notification (anywhere between 1 minute and 7 days, or on the green flag time)
  • Today View shows you all the races that day
  • Week View shows you the next 10 days
  • Deals with time zones for you
  • All major series included, with plans on including more
  • Privacy focused. I don't want your data
  • Cheap. All the race time data you need for less than the price of a Starbucks Coffee or Beer once a month
Requires iOS14 (sorry to iOS13 or below users, but the framework I used is iOS14 only). iPhone only currently. iPad and Mac to follow later, along with widgets and more data. This is my first app. I do expect bugs. But it seems to be pretty stable right now.

I assume (from the ios14 requirement) this is SwiftUI?

Congratualtions to Sir Lewis Hamleton

Indeed, the SwiftUI 2 update from 2020. Learning to make iOS apps, I figured there was no point in using the old stuff if I was just going to update it to the new stuff later on.

Does download on iPad but displays in a little window. Have plans to make it iPad and M1 Mac compatible soon. Also going to add Widgets and some other stuff. Will add more series on request too.

So looks like Imola or Portugal will be back in 2021 to fill Round 4 since Vietnam will not be happening and is unlikely to be considered in the coming years.
