Previously iMac recognized ethernet connection fine.

I double checked ethernet is working (fiber optic connection works fine to my Roku TV).

Unplugged and replugged ethernet cable. Seems very solid.

Restarted I Mac.

Upgraded to Ventura

In network preferences only wifi shows connection.

Also says Thunderbolt Bridge and Bluetooth Pan not connected.

No mention of ethernet connection.

Rebooted fiber ONT and Google Nest Router.

Please advise.

Go back to network preferences.

The list of connections (on the left, or at least it used to be):
DELETE THEM ALL (using the "-" button).

Next, REBOOT the iMac. (don't skip this)
Get back to the finder.

Now, RE-create the deleted connections.
Try ethernet first.

Does this change anything?

Could be a bad ethernet port on the iMac or a software conflict/configuration issue.
Connecting an Ethernet cable, on my devices, always brings 'Ethernet Connected' to the top of the list.
Try booting into Safe Mode and see if you can get Ethernet to work.

Just to check, your Settings>Network looks similar to this with the Ethernet cable connected?

Thanks, I’ll try this and let you know

Have you tried a different Ethernet cable?

Have you tried a different port on the router or switch?
I have two different Ethernet cables that connect fine with my TV and neither connect with my IMac.

I have a Google Nest router which only has 1 LAN port, which is connected to my 5 port switch.
I will try other ports on the switch.

Thanks

You might try plugging right into the single port on the Nest -- just to see if it makes any difference.
