I have 2 imacs same model
One of have has good quality sound from the speakers with deep bass

The other doesn’t have any bass
I have been told by the seller it’s always been like that

What is likely the issue? Do I need to replace the speakers?

Would like to know how other people’s iMacs sound

Sure. Why not? You can also try swap speakers between the two. Maybe it not the speakers but cabling, etc. You will never discover problem unless you experiment or troubleshoot.

@Karlbmac "I have 2 imacs same model"

The same model year 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019-2020 (for the 27") all have slightly different speakers.
So anything called the same in About This Mac will be the same, but a 2020 doesn't match a 2017 etc.

There's no separate cabling. The speaker unit has a built in cable that plugs straight into the logic board.
There's not really any 'failure points', but a speaker low frequency driver unit could have failed, or the logic board plug/socket be damaged if someone has opened the iMac up and fiddled with it...

If both speakers sound the same (with no bass) that's a more complicated thing to troubleshoot, as literally nothing in the left and right (digital and analogue) signal chains is shared after the T2 chip...

Are you sure there's no background software installed (in Login items etc) that might be affecting the sound EQ?
