For any of you that have received your new 13” MacBook Pro, are any of you connecting to one or more external monitors and how is it handling that? Any issues that you noticed?

I have a 15.6” 4K monitor that I bought for the work-from-home era. My Ice Lake 13” MBP i5 has handled it well. Far better than my work-issued HP notebook (Elitebook 840 G5 with a 28W 8th gen chip). It works seamlessly through my HP Thunderbolt dock, which connects through USB-C DisplayPort. I notice no lag at all, and the fans don’t kick on.

For the record my work HP’s hardware handles the 4K screen well, but Windows 10 is terrible in how it deals with a laptop with a 1080p screen and a second 4K monitor.

Yes, Windows and HiDPI don’t go to well together with this set up. Try not to move windows around :)

No issues here. 13" 2020 MBP with 10th gen i5, the $1799 model, received 5 days ago, using heavily every day, about half the time running an external 4K monitor.

Temps range from low 30s to 50s (celsius) usually, reaching into the 80s if I'm really pushing the machine. Fans are rarely audible, usually either off or under 2500rpm (which to my ears is virtually inaudible).
How are you monitoring temperatures as iStat Menus sensors don't show for CPU on new 10th gen i5 & i7?

What does it say about palm rest temp and CPU peci under normal load ie web/ email ?
Right now, CPU PECI is 48C, palm rest is 24-26C, overall is 48-50C. I am currently running a Google Meet video conference in Safari, about 10 other tabs in Safari, MS Word, Evernote, the stock Calendar app.

I have the i5 MBA 2020, it's running a 4k monitor fine, so I assume my 2020 MBP 10th Gen will be fine too. Returning the Air when the Pro arrives.

Thats very interesting, just fired up my 2018 which has been sleeping, CPU PECI is 64-67 and Palm rest 21. I wonder if the new CPUs dont chuck out as much heat??

Were the fans running? What was the room temperature?
