How do you find the performance with Big Sur? (2020 13 Pro with LG 5k Ultrafine)

After the update I'm finding that the interface on 5k gets really laggy, especially Finder and Quick look and they send fans in overdrive. For instance Quick look is contanstantly dropping frames in HD videos, yet VLC does it with no problems and little fan noise.

That shouldn’t happen unless there’s a bunch of daemons and junk in your used library folders. This weekend do a clean install while you chill, if you didn’t do a clean install already.

This IS fresh install. It seem to be software. Catalina was fine. OK, FCPX got a bit noisy, but nothing outrageous.

Big Sur is ridiculous. HD movie, spacebar, wait 5 seconds, fans in overdrive. And Finder starts lagging and opening folders takes a couple of seconds. If I disconnect the LG monitor, it's fine.

I have a bad feeling, that Intel Macs are going to be made obsolete fast by buggy software in the future.
