Hi! Considering swapping my mid 2018 MBP 13 inch (top spec) for the new Macbook Air, primarily due to the keyboard and physical design.

The only taxing thing I do is raw photo editing in Lightroom. Usually one photo at a time. No Photoshop. I don’t care about export times (I have to wait anyway) but I don’t want the computer to go crazy with fans blasting while I’m editing. So far my 2018 MBP has been pretty silent and cool while using Lightroom.

Has anyone tried Lightroom with the new MBA? Comments?

Thank you in advance!

Lightroom CC from the Mac App Store runs like a dream when editing raw files. I don’t have Lightroom classic to try, but I’d expect it to perform just as good.

That’s great! I’m mostly using Classic but have been considering a switch to CC. Which MBA do you have? How large are the photos? It doesn’t get overly warm/loud?

2020 air with quad core, I think most of my images are around 26mp. I don’t think the fans have ever turned on when I’m using Lightroom, but I’ve had them come on in things like Steam.
