Hello, my first iPad Pro is less than a month old and I recently noticed that the usb-c port has created a slight movement that wasn´t there before. It has now slight up/down and side-to-side movement, similar to this video I found for someones 2017 Macbook (first device). Is this normal for usb-c port becomes this loose in less than month? It still clicks and stays in place fine tho.

I haven´t dropped the device or anything and Im very carefull with my stuff. It just worries me how loose the port will become over time if only after less than a month it feels this flimsy. It charges good, clicks and stays in good. Just the slight movement annoys me. IMO not acceptable for Apple product less than a month old. When first charged I immediately noticed how good and snugg the port was, just like it should be. Not anymore.

Im planning on taking it for a service check, because I purchased it from the operator in EU. It still has 24 month warranty on it. Is it good idea to take it in for the service now or wait a bit more to see if it gets worse over time and repair it then? What is considered a normal movement for usb-c port?

Yes, it is perfectly normal. Just use your iPad Pro normally and plug it in without worrying.

Thank you for the answer. It is a relief. I think Im just overly sensitive for my device which is great in otherwise. I wouldn´t ask if it didn´t had created the movement in less than a month. Im going to keep an eye on it and if it gets any worse or don´t hold the cable in good im taking it to a service.

Resurrecting this thread. Just did an exchange on a brand new 12" pro because the port was so loose tha5 it would charge and sync intermittently. Same cables on the 10" are fine.

and the new one has the same issue. Seems like there's a design flaw with the port on the 12.

Thats weird. So on your 10” device theres no looseness/movement with the usb-c cable whatsoever? On my 12,9 M1 the usb-c port has become even more loose over the months. Now it wiggles easily both up/down and left/right . Still charges and stays in place fine, but definitely annoying thing. Looks like an issue IMO. I think Im going to call Apple support or take my device back to the store at some point for check.

Man I also have the same problem, wanted to ask you how is that iPad of yours holding up after the time passing by? Has it worsened or the same, whether it is even working fine?
