iPad Pro 2021 12.9” iPad Pro screen dimming?

EDIT: Damn, I did have it enabled. I guess that explains it. Thank Jeebus it wasn’t a defect.
Can anyone please help me with this? Could I do a hard reset (if so, how do you do that?) or should I try something else like a complete factory reset? I really don’t want to send it back. Best Buy told me they don’t have replacement units, so I would be waiting for stock to replenish just to get my iPad again.
Sounds like you might have a faulty unit, I’ve never used auto brightness, not seeing my display dim at all, return it for a new one.
Have you tried restoring first to see if that fixes your problem?
Oh, I see. Well, I turned off my iPad Pro this morning and that didn’t fix it. Like I said, I did a hard reset and so far so good. I’m really hoping I don’t have to return this bad boy, because I’ll be waiting probably a month or more before Best Buy gets more stock in. That would be a real bummer.
No point messing with it especially during the return period.
Yeah, I do have some good news on my front. The Best Buy that is about an hour away has the 12.9” Space Gray in stock (I have Silver) and I can go there tomorrow morning and exchange it. I actually wanted it in Space Gray originally, so this might work out for the best. I’m just happy I don’t have to wait for it.
Well, unfortunately I read that wrong and the Best Buy that had 1 (and only 1) iPad Pro was 29 miles past the location that was an hour away from me. Just can’t do that, so I’ll be sending it back via UPS tomorrow and waiting for my refund. Then hopefully the Space Gray is still in stock by that time and I can place my order by Thursday or Friday of next week. I’m really disheartened by all of this, but I guess it happens to the best of us. 
I’ve just mostly been using Spotify and Google Chrome. I’ve noticed it was hot before, but only once did I even check. I would check a store demo, but the closest place that would have one (a Best Buy) is an hour away and that’s not somewhere I can just drive to casually. Thanks for the inquiries, though. I appreciate any concerns/help with this problem I can get!

You’re not willing to drive the extra mile? I feel like you’re letting the other iPad Bros down.
Well, it would suck pretty bad if I drove an hour and a half (at least) just to get here and them not have it. I can’t call the individual store to make sure they have it either, so anything could happen. I might change my mind by in the morning, but I doubt it.

For me safari is the fastest and best optimised for apple devices, honestly anything but chrome. Maybe someone can chip in and recommend one.

Which isn't what Google Chrome is... The government would've intervened a looong time ago if that was true, especially considering the fact that Google Chrome had 65.99% of the global browser market in 2020 according to the chart posted above.

The web browser that comes bundled with the operating system will obviously be the most optimized.
Maybe pick Mozilla Firefox if you really do hate Google Chrome for whatever reason.
