works fine but in my experience because the magnets on the 2021 iPad Pro 12.9 are in slightly different positions it doesn’t seem quite as secure as on the the 2021 magic keyboard
I’ve seen people shake them around a little with no issue so shouldn’t be a problem, I don’t normally shake mine. And the 4th gen Smart Keyboard Folio wasn’t changed at all to become 5th gen compatible so no one should really have any issues unless they’re rough with them.
I just went to the store and picked up a magic keyboard. How do I know I have the most recent version? The sticker on the back of the box says iPad Pro 11" (1st and 2nd generation).
If you have an iPad Pro 11 there was no change so all current stock of MKB is the most recent version. I ordered a 5th gen Smart Keyboard Folio for the 12.9 5th gen iPP. The box had a 3rd and 4th gen product label because that keyboard was not changed in any way for the 5th gen iPP. Only MKB had to be changed a little for the new 12.9 iPP.
fwiw i’m using a 2020 magic keyboard on a new 12.9 and if the magnets were any stronger it would be a problem. its very difficult to pull off easily.
i also put a glass screen protector on mine and so far no issues either. closes fine (although i might not keep the protector on— there are 1-2 bubbles and i’m not sure i like the additional glare.)
