Are there any cases that protect the back and sides that are compatible with the magic keyboard?

The Pitaka magnetic case is a solid option. I have one and it is built very well and is nice to use, especially when detached from the keyboard. A couple of downsides…the price (~$70) and it may also not provide as much protection as you may be looking for. Nonetheless, I would recommend this case, plus the carbon fiber texture looks very slick.

Here is the link for it on Amazon:

Hope this helps!

What version of MK do you have? Does it close all the way? I have version 1 of the keyboard but am upgrading from 2018 to 2021 because I shattered my screen. I'm going to get it fixed and hand it down. I need something right away because I use my iPP for work, and the 2021 can be here in 2 hours.

Anyway, what I've been doing for the last three years is the smart folio and Smart Keyboard, but given today's incident, I'm looking for something with a little more protection but also trying not to miss out on the ease of use with MK.

Oh no, sorry to hear.

I have the 2020 Apple Magic Keyboard with the Pitaka. I have it for the 11” and 12.9” actually. Both fit fine, however I will say that they do not offer the best protection. Not all corners are covered. But the iPad closes perfect with no issues With the Pitaka on and MK closed. Your best bet would be to get a case with more protection, then remove it when you put your iPad back on the MK. However, it is very easy and convenient to be able to use the Pitaka.
