per CBS Sports:
In a termination letter explaining (Mike) Anderson's firing obtained by ESPN, the school asserted that Anderson failed to facilitate an environment of academic compliance within the program. It also claimed that Anderson failed to "appropriately supervise" his assistant coaches.

So they fired a guy for cause and hired a guy who has a reputation for skirting the rules. That's normal.

Welp, Alabama is done and Houston seems to be on their way towards joining them

Wooooooo!

First time ever since the tournament expanded to 64 teams there will be no #1 seeds in the Elite Eight.

Madness reigns in 2023!

As reported during their E8 game, UConn is the only school remaining with a previous national title. I'd like to see one of the other teams win it.

As an aside, they really need to fix the held ball going to the possession arrow. That rule sucks, and always has. There have been discussions in the rules committee about changing it. To me, the argument that "it all evens out" doesn't wash. It should relate to the moment, not to the law of averages.

I would love to see the possession arrow go in favor of a true jump ball.

I can't believe there will be a perfect bracket this year. Whoever has one should immediately be hired by the sports networks.

I don't think the jump ball is coming back. Proposals have been to award the ball to the team whose player was the one to tie up the opponent who had possession first. In cases where that judgment could not be made, they would fall back on the possession arrow. It's a judgment call, but so are many other things.

The NBA jumps it during a tie up. College should do the same. The men’s game also needs to move to quarters.

I don’t like the jump ball. It rewards one player for being taller, when it’s often a smaller, quicker player who causes the tie up. Again, it’s too random.

RE: Next post (#48)
Nah. Reward the effort of the player who tied up the opponent who had possession first. Substituting one or two other player(s) who were not involved in the play is also too random for me. The same guy who "won" the tip at the start of the game is likely to win within the game. How is that fair? It's not just me who doesn't like the jump ball. The NCAA rules committee didn't like it enough to keep it around, but they need to fix their initial "solution" because it's not much better. It's not up to us fans, but I don't see it coming back after all these years. They are obviously happier with the less flawed rule than the truly awful one.

Put your 2 big men on the jump.
