WOW! What a game!

I am not really a fan of 12 teams (wish it was either 8 or 16) but I have to say this playoffs has had a lot of really good games. A big improvement over prior years with just the top 4.

I think that only one of the first round games was competitive. Both semi-final were though.

Yah, the first round, aside from ND-IN were pretty much all blow outs. The Quarter finals games between AZ/ TX & ND/GA were both good games (to me). And then as you said, the semi finals were both good games. I feel like there aren't 12 realistic national championship teams every year, but there are certainly more than 4. So with the expanded field, at least the real national champion is almost always assured to be in the field. (Would FL st have won the national championship last year? Probably not, but if there were 8 teams in the field, at least we would have found out) But we do get a few Indianas, SMU's or Boise States in there. Personally I think 8 is the right number. If you're ranked #9 in the country, you're probably not a realistic national champion. But if they do have more than 8, I think giving some teams an extra bye week ins't completely fair, so I'd prefer 16 over 12.

Oh well, I'd still take this over the system we had in place last year.

I like 12 teams.

I also liked when we simply used polls/ranking to decide. The debates were fun.

I feel like this is the first year where the best teams got into the playoffs, and the best teams won in the playoffs. In my opinion, there were no surprises – though there were a few close games.

At this point, my two favorite teams are playing for the championship. I suspect Ohio State will win, but I also won't be surprised if the game ends up closer than most people suspect, or even Notre Dame winning.

The "Natty" was almost a boring game. It got a little iffy in the early 4th quarter.

All of the First Round games were boring.

One of the Second Round games was not a blow-out.

The semi-finals were pretty competitive.

All in all, I'd say below average excitement.

But, one thing the 12-team format did was to not exclude good teams that were capable of winning the title. It also called into question what that ideal number is. Maybe 8 would be enough.

It would be the perfect number. I don't think the byes did the teams that got them any good as they all lost. Granted two of the teams did not deserve the bye, but still 1 & 2 went down and they did deserve them.
