Well I don’t truly know what it would cost if I shipped it back to the US for support but that’s one major thing I am ready to sacrifice at the moment and if it’s really bad it remains a possibility whatsoever so im not considerably worried.

Well I don’t truly know what it would cost if I shipped it back to the US for support but that’s one major thing I am ready to sacrifice at the moment and if it’s really bad it remains a possibility whatsoever so im not considerably worried.
I only see the options to leave with a neighbor or deliver another day on the UPS app for my 02/02 pre-order. Maybe the “pickup at a UPS point” option will become available closer to the delivery date?
I have noticed that with past iPhone pre-orders I haven’t been able to set a guaranteed 2-hour delivery window and it looks like it will be the same with the AVP. I wonder if the separate order I made for accessories will have the same restriction 🤔
I ordered right as pre-orders went live... everything completed fine then around 11pm my order was cancelled by Apple. They didnt know why. Next morning I ordered again and like the previous day around 11pm the order cancelled again. The next day I called into Apple to order with a rep and it turns out the order was cancelled each time because I transposed my phone number and two numbers were reversed. Everything else was correct and that was why they canceled it. Unbelievable 😢... so instead of 2-2 I will get mine on 2-19.... Grrrrrrr.... I don't understand why they can't verify everything during the order instead of waiting 10+ hours to cancel because they couldn't confirm the number...

In Guatemala using my freight forwarder (which Apple has denied in the past) would mean that I'd pay probably $1k or a bit more in tariffs. So, I'm flying to Miami 🙂
My freight forwarder has a returns insurance added to the cost, which means if I have to return anything it's free. I had to do that with a ViewSonic projector, and it worked without a problem.
Probably cheaper to fly round trip, test the fit out, and if necessary make any changes at a US Apple Store ?
The next 9 days are going to be brutal. We're in an information vacuum about this thing and I just wish it was releasing this Friday rather than next. At least we have the review embargo to look forward to probably on Tuesday.

Sorry man. But you can't blame Apple for this. You weren't able to correctly input your phone number. Take responsibility for this. Suggestion. Next time, check your data.
The number has been wrong forever, I never noticed it because this never happened, and I have ordered A LOT of stuff from Apple over the years. Everything from accessories to MacBooks ($19-$5000) 😂
The only thing I am thinking is they were trying to combat the non-US people and bots so they were verifying everything.
For the love of all that is holy!... Apple just cancelled my order again. I called and this time they think it's the bank card declining it since it looks like fraud. Three orders for the same amount in three days. Calling the bank to clear things up and make sure they know I am about to order AGAIN 😂 I am going to try to do in store pickup this time so hopefully I dont have to wait until Christmas to get it 😂
Unfortunately it was my original plan at first but from my calculations for my own case it is almost the same price than importing it and paying the duties on top of that.
What turned out to be the most expensive is hotel & plane specifically.
It could have been certainly cheaper with some great deals (and if we knew the exact release date earlier!) but only if I don't declare it when going back to my home country which is a risk to take. I would also potentially say good bye to the (big) original packaging (that's kind of a bummer).
And finally the Face ID scan gives me the same result constantly for the light seal so the ordered size should be fine (Hopefully, I cross my fingers). The strap however oscillates between M and S (I ordered M) so I guess we'll see how things turns out and worst case scenario I'll be exchanging one of them.

I took 2 days earlier in the week (one for some work on my car the other for doctor appointments) before I decided to buy. Should have taken the whole week off.
That's good then. My biggest worry was what would happen if 3 months in the glass broke or something stopped working, trying to get that sent back to the Apple Store, diagnosed, fixed, then sent back etc seemed like a massive headache. But if you can just claim it on their insurance and send it back then that solves a lot of issues.
It appears that it is time to change your requested days off, which one loses out, work on the car or doctor's appointment? Get your priorities straight man! 😂
Originally my order page said "Arrives Mar 1 - Mar 8 by Standard Delivery", my guess is the "Sat" they now show is either March 2nd or 9th.
My original order was set for delivery feb 11-16 and yesterday I was able to cancel and place a new order for an in-store pickup on Feb 5th. happy 🙂
I didn't take that day off, but my boss is on vacation that week......
So you'll be testing this thing out for the benefit of the company, good man!
