Not only do we loose Spa every other year, but teams will test on a circuit on the schedule. Not a good decision IMO.

The only change I want to see is the race from finish to start in Monaco..
Just why the moron's refuse to accept that they got the math wrong decades ago, we can forgive them, but to continue to scam when you know you are scamming is just pure insanity...

There is no reason Monaco should be a snooze.. Race from Finish to start, it works so much better..

Smaller, somewhat right(?), cars might make it more interesting ...?

2026 cars are smaller... right?

My guess is F1 is worried about Madrid and want to ensure a GP is held in Spain.

As for Spa, I believe the track owners and the local government asked for the track to move to alternate years due to financial concerns about holding it annually.

I remember that now. I believe there was a financial component, and it was their request. It's still disappointing for me at least.

How is testing on a circuit that is on the schedule a bad idea?

I don't like testing on scheduled circuits. Testing should be on circuits with no advantage to anyone. Such as Indy Car testing at Sebring. It's not on the schedule.

AAAHHHH... Makes sense now. Understood.

Looks like there’s now a dedicated F1 channel on Apple TV. After tapping on it, I can see the upcoming races, but there’s an “Add” button. Do you have to tap that to actually record the pre-race show, practice, qualifying, and the race?

For decades we had a somewhat love hate relationship with the major broadcaster here called "Multi-choice/DSTV" DSTV was the satellite/sports broadcaster, they had rights to everything, but someone got the math wrong and DSTV went bankrupt, and was sold to Canal+ out of Paris...

So being they are French. The 1st thing they did was strip DSTV of any ability to buy rights.. So we are waiting to find out if we have any decent F1 etc for 2026... I have my doubts the French will tolerate Sky on their New purchase..

We had 0% of Winter Olympics, None, nothing... C+ have made no announcements about any rights and we are 18 days away from lights out and away we go.. I hope we have something, my money is on some muppet droning on in French for 2 hours..

Clicking the "Add" button will add them to your active Watchlist as they go live, but it is not required. You can wait until after the event and watch it like a VOD.

I received a text alert stating that I was good to go!!

So The Race believes Ferrari is running a smaller diameter turbo than the other engine manufacturers. This allows the turbo to spool up faster, which is helping it with launches. It also means that Ferrari does not need to downshift all the way to first gear in corners (and, in fact, does not like doing so), which should give them an advantage initially powering out of the corner.

Where the smaller turbo will hurt them is maximum power output (smaller turbo means a smaller intake charge feeding the ICU) so on the longest straights (like Barcelona and Baku) they could be swarmed by the cars with larger turbos able to generate more top-end ICU power.

And speaking of launches, it is starting to look ugly. Audi is having massive difficulties getting off the line and McLaren has been doing burnouts in the pit lane followed by long holds at pit exit to simulate what it will be like on the actual grid in terms of trying to time things for the start.

Looks like Ferrari is also testing a "blown beam wing" diverting exhaust gases to help with the way they interact with the rear wing air flow and help improve performance here and deliver greater downforce of the diffuser.

Folks in the comments are reporting it has passed FIA scrutineering, but as we see directly above, if other teams file complaints about it's legality...

Photographers got some good shots of the AM floor during the lift after Lance’s beaching. Newey must be livid.
