My "A" CPU has always run hot since I got this machine (I know it is teh one that does teh primary workload).

"A" usually runs between 190 and 205 during a PS batch.

"B" usually runs between 157 and 160 during a PS batch.

Temperature Monitor and Hardware Monitor both give the same readings (I know, same software bascially).

The upper limit for this processor is 190...do I call Apple before this thing boils itself to death?

Going to try and find another temperature widget/software now to see if that is the inconsistency.

190 I could deal with, this 205 stuff is a bit hot.

I was under the impression that the Power Mac is designed to shut itself down if it reaches a temperature which could damage its components. It does seem a little on the warm side though!

both of mine from what i vaguely remember run at about 160 degrees Fahrenheit. But mine is also the dual 1.8

205 degrees?!?! That is umm... how can I put it? Quite hot? I would call Apple if I were you to be on the safe side. Surely something must be wrong there.

Hopefully it is the software, not the proc.
