Watch for a small "punch hole" for the front-facing camera with very small Dynamic Island design for what I call the iPhone XX. And unlike what many claim, it will still have a USB Type C charging and I/O port on the bottom due to EU regulations.

EU regulations allow for full-wireless charging without a port.

..but I think they will keep the port anyway, but it's dumb to remove it.

The tiny startup that could, Apple, was working overtime to design the true vision of the iPhone, an all-glass design. Sadly, at the absolute last minute, Apple discovered this feature just wasn't quite ready to be a best-in-class game changer that delights customers. To ensure Apple is not necessarily the first, but the best, in skating to where the puck will be, Apple had to pull this feature. But, not to worry, because the pipeline has never been stronger and pulling this feature will allow for a clear upgrade path for record profits for years to come!

Not sure what is going to happen. But it is possible for a delay to happen. Maybe the 20th anniversary model will have a hole cut out and the true all screen iPhone with under screen FaceID and camera can be kept aside for a lunch in 2032 for the 25th anniversary model. That will be something special.

None (and I mean NONE) of the phones at the time of the iPhone X had uniform bezels on all sides, and it’s not like they had Face ID hardware in their notches either. They aren’t comparable at all.
Agreed. As a FaceID doubter, waited all the way until the 15, but once I got it I was fully converted. It is the most convenient, seamless thing ever and I forget that it's unique to iPhone. Hoping the 20th anniversary is exciting too. I'm sure Apple has something planned.

Apple not what it used to be!!

All these patents for underscreen Face ID and Apple can’t get it into a device

not sure what people expected. apple wasn't likely to go from island to hole to nothing at in the space of two years.

only vivo, xiaomi and oppo are likely to make things all screen anytime soon.

While I remember people saying the exact same thing just before 5S and after iPhone 5 came out (can't innovate anymore my ass), and I disagreed strongly with this type of statements, in today's world and with where Apple is at the moment and what they're producing? Definitively, 100% agreed. Apple is uninspired, boring, can't believe we have iPhone looking more or less the same since 2020 and will continue to be the same. It's hard to be an Apple fan nowadays, more fans are turning into haters - this is a fact, watch Apple Explained and you'll see how broken the hardest Apple fans are with today's Apple.

Not only is iOS 26 disappointing and not at all as big of a change as Craig made it out to be, iPhone is stale as well. Macs are good, Apple's Mac lineup is very strong in my opinion. But the best seller - iPhone - bland.

Apple has always been narcissistic on the inside, but at least they used to deliver. Now it's just being narcissistic and delusional as well.

Apple narcissistic? 🫣 That is such a dark, upside-down, backwards view on the world, I don't have words...

There is a big difference between carefully crafted evolution and ... that.

With the iMac and iPod, Apple had to turn heads. They had fun, were playful. It worked.

With the iPhone, the "innovations" are on the inside, not by way of some flashy new physical appearance from one model to the next.

People claim Apple is not innovating because not much appears to change on the outside, but try comparing a latest iPhone to the original, and you'll see why Apple continues to be the one to emulate, as the entire industry still does.

Dude. Internally? Apple is a circlejerk.

An iPhone on the inside is way behind schedule. The “innovation” Apple has been slow feeding you is minimum of 5 years old at this point.

I can't with these "anniversary device" rumors. The only time they did a major redesign to market a release was iPhone X... which skipped a couple numbers, so it wasn't even a 10th anniversary release.

This is Apple... the compan that waits 5 years to implement basic quality of life improvements other platforms have, and they're going to make a special edition design for a whole device? Sure they are....

I'm still waiting to be able to resize my bloody keyboard. 20 models later. Twenty. Day one features of Android and every other mobile OS that has come and gone.

When one glances at another persons smartphone if it has a Notch or Dynamic Island it’s instantly recognized as an iPhone.

It’s a styling cue Apple has deliberately created and is not about to abandon. Notice the Notch on every new Apple laptop.

Product recognition is one of Apples masterful marketing practices.

I don’t know about the rest of your post but the iPhone X was indeed the 10 year anniversary device, regardless of numbering schemes. The S models threw things off.

You dont celebrate a year until the year is done, so iPhone reached “Year 1” when the 3G released.

2007 - Year 0: iPhone
2008 - Year 1: iPhone 3G
2009 - Year 2: iPhone 3GS
2010 - Year 3: iPhone 4
2011 - Year 4: iPhone 4S
2012 - Year 5: iPhone 5
2013 - Year 6: iPhone 5C/5S
2014 - Year 7: iPhone 6
2015 - Year 8: iPhone SE/6S
2016 - Year 9: iPhone 7
2017 - Year 10: iPhone 8/iPhone X

I've been suffering with Face ID for years now, and I still hate it.

Give me the home button and Touch ID back. Oh, and let me turn on two-factor with it, I should be able to require a fingerprint AND a PIN.
