I just don’t see how this “feature” improves the phone for me, as a user. I’m fine with a bezel. Frankly, if Apple had decided to keep a top bezel large enough for camera/faceid and not cut notches or holes in the screen, I would have been very happy.

This sounds like a gimmick to me. The smart phone is a mature product and has probably already reached optimum design. Any "improvements" at this point probably will provide marginal benefits at best. How are we supposed to put a case on a side-glass iPhone? I don't spend $$$ or $$$$ on these devices without providing protection. besides, use of a case adds colors and personalizes them, and often makes them look better. In other words, count me out.

Love this phone. Excited to see how they use animation and depth/perspective… like looking at your phone side on and seeing the edges of app icon/widgets floating in air, in a piece of glass. They could do some really clever things.
There won’t be a display visible on the sides.

More absolute missing the point from Apple. They used to live and breathe “form follows function”. They have completely lost the plot.

There is absolutely no user benefit to a wraparound display. Phones are things that are dropped all the time. They should have a bit of a bezel to protect from impact, and to give a buffer zone for the hand tissue to wrap around.

Right, if they want to see their phones out there careless, they need to make them more durable and easier to keep a hold of.

Not interested in "glitz" that adds no functionality. The 17 ProMax with the same camera size for all three cameras hit the spot I was looking for. No need for another one for a long time.

I can’t imagine the repair cost after I drop this thing once. It better have very strong glass.

Having one of these without AppleCare will be like having a Watch Ultra without AppleCare. Like rolling very expensive dice.

And I DO drop the $20/mo on AppleCare One as I have my laptop, phone, and watch on it. I had a MBP back int he day without AC on it and I cracked the screen. I'll never do that again.

Some people think AC1 is a waste of money, but it gives me piece of mind and it changes the way I use my devices in so much as I don't fret over every possible moment of drop or exposure to risk. I pay more money for decent car, home, and health insurance too. The health insurance thing owes me nothing at this point. I cost those guys actual millions.
