being that tb was made for information to go back and forth at high speeds. you figure target display mode would have been easier. this sucks if true.

While we were unable to find explicit mention of support for Target Display Mode on the new iMac product pages, an Apple sales representative has confirmed to us that the new 27-inch models do continue to support the feature through the new Thunderbolt ports.

Unfortunately it only says 27-inch models, so... not sure if the 21.5 does or not.

I just got off the phone with Apple asking about this and I was told that both the 21.5 and 27 inch versions should support Target Display mode. I can't say there was much confidence in the response from Apple, but fingers crossed for those of you that want this in the 21.5 models.
