Im about to order my first iMac which will primarily used for web design. So programs llke photoshop and other editing tools will be used.

Do you recommend the smaller screen but greater horse power or the larger real estate but slower cpu?

i have a 27" i5, i would never trade for a 21" i7.

the 27" is so much nicer than the 21", i know 21" seems ok but if you use a 27" and then see/use a 21", it seems really small.

You won't see a difference between i5 to i7,
but you'll see a big difference from 21" to 27".

The 27" i7 bit the i5 with the 27" screen will do fine. You need that real-estate for photo and video applications.....I couldn't live with a smaller screen now:)

Personally I chose the i7 over screen size but I need my iMac for video editing which is a lot more CPU intensive. For photo editing and web design you’re probably better off with the upgrade in screen size.
