After suffering yellow tint on two BTO 21" I went retail and got a 27". It honestly didn't seem gigantic going from 21....just lots more real estate to have several screens open at once. 21" is very good (when not yellow) but 27 is where it's at.

Mine goes through DVI, I'm guessing HDMI will be the same.
Just works as a second desktop. I usually have one for work/safari and one for itunes/crap, or spread work over both. Ultimately prefer it to the 27", though space wise the 27" has it's advantages.
except core 2 is inferior to i3. if you value screen size over processing speed (like if you don't run CPU-heavy apps), then sure...but otherwise you're going backwards.
Nah, I'm very pleased with the 21.5". I'm surprised at how big it feels in comparison to my 17" Windows laptop when it's there in front of me.
In my case, anything else would've been far too big - In fact, I don't even have anywhere practical to keep it as it is, so it's off the table, covered up and put away come breakfast time each morning. Yet speaking as someone who's come to it from a lifetime of Windows PCs, the inconvenience seems to be worth it.

I like the size of the 21.5 and prefer a dual monitor set up as opposed to a single, huge monitor.

Yes I have the 20 I wish it was the bigger one! or that I could find another monitor like the screen I have!
Help: I am finding the 27" too big !!
I am feeling a little like bambi in the head lights :
I have the brightness turned down but am finding the extra size and light area while reading on-line distracting and hard on my eyes and the height is craning my neck some .. I miss filling the monitor with my web-page without feeling like I am sitting in front of a large light box and when I make my web-page smaller and centered I find sides of the monitor distracting .. I might also be getting slight motion sickness but do not know why 😡
In theory the 27" was great and I was advise to get the i5 quad core as we want to do some pro-photo editing but am thinking of trading it down for the smaller i5 .. I am concerned about issues with the 21" and have read they are worse than the 27" in terms of noise and yellowing and do not know if the i5 will be powerful enough :

Well I got my 21.5" (hope that's ok for you Iamthinking 😛) today, the size is perfect, and actually seems much larger than it did in the shop!

Are you in the UK or US?
if the issues you have read about on here are putting you off getting the smaller model, I wouldn't worry. You always have to take forums with a pinch of salt, remember people aren't interested in "Hey, my mac is working perfectly" threads so people only express the bad things.
like I say, I got mine today and it's absolutely perfect - boring I know 😉

I use the computer pushed back on my 30" deep table but in front of my power strip .. I have the keyboard pushed back close to the computer leaving a space for some notes .. I rest my arms or elbows on the table to type and read and sit back to rest .. I might be sitting too close for the 27" but am not sure how to change and still be able to focus or function 😡
I would have probably gone with a 27-incher with that kind of desk setup. You have a large desk and you are able to put distance between your eyes and the iMac. I chose the 21.5-incher because even though my desk is at least as big as yours, I have to keep the iMac fairly close to me.
