I have just received my iMac back from repair earlier today (Unfortunately, it is having to go back after they made a complete mess re-applying the glass and didn't actually fix the problem).

Anyway, I contacted AppleCare regarding streaks and greyish marks on the underside of the glass. A case was set-up, and I received a phone call later on from an authorised repairer who picked up the computer for repair.

They also decided to repair the LCD display because of 'colour interference'.

Anyway, my question is, has anyone had any original or replacement 24" displays have the same 'yellow tint' problem occurring, like the 21.5" and 27" models some time ago. It seems to be seeping through from the left and right hand sides of the display.

Obviously, the computer needs to go in again to be repaired properly this time, but they just said that they 'would look at the display'.

Has anyone managed to get Apple to replace their 24" display due to this issue? And how should I go about it.

The iMac was bought in March '09, so is 17 months old and has a full extended AppleCare warranty.

    Thanks in advance.

It's CCFL backlit, which is known to technically be yellow rather than true white. That could be considered completely normal.

OK cool. Hope this isn't a stupid question, but the centre of the display is displaying accurate colours, it's just on the right and left edges. Is that usual for a CCFL backlight computer - it's just that I never noticed on the original display.

That'll just be backlight leakage, which is typical for the cheap displays apple used in those iMacs, sorry but its just something you have to live with.

Cool OK, thanks for that - I just wasn't too sure if it was normal!

    Thanks, Dylan.
