24" LED Cinema Display or 21,5" or 27" iMac?

The Logitech keyboard and mouse are not an option. Their bluetooth options are very limited and not very well supported under Mac OS X.

Maybe I am misunderstanding this.

I am currently using a Logitech MX Mouse
and DiNovo wireless keyboard on my Mac
Pro with absolutely no problems.

When I get my 27" iMac next month I plan
to use these peripherals on it.

Do you think I am going to run into problems?

The idea of keeping two Macs sync'd just makes me cringe, so my first thought would be to buy the ACD as a 'home' monitor and hook an MBP/MBA up as and when. I still think that's the way to go.

I think people forget bout 'target disk mode'; why not get the 21" iMac and connect the MB via TDM - now worries aboyt syncing, and you get the big screen, extra HP and the option of backing up etc.:)

the 24" ACD is pretty, but now looks waaaaay over-priced!

Why is everyone so anti-multiple Macs? I have four that I use on a semi-regular basis (the Macbook is my wife's, however, so I don't use it every day. I don't even try to "sync" them. I simply keep what I need on each one and if something else comes up, there's Screen Sharing or simply accessing the network drive to get it.

Just my opinion. Feel free to trash it if ya'll like to. :D

Well, maybe. For what it's worth, I've read that the support for Mac from Logitech isn't that good.

More important for me, is that the MX mouse isn't available (anymore) as a bluetooth version. I don't like a dongle.

Hmm, multiple Mac's sounds better if you put it like that. Still there is quite a price difference. And the 24" screen is quite a lot bigger. Since I already have a computer, I'm primarily interested in the screen :)

Just to let you know, I am using the Dinovo
keyboard and MX REVOLUTION mouse just
fine under snow leopard. There are even
drivers for both.

This is on my Mac Pro.

I was just wondering if there was anything
different in the architecture of the iMac that
would prevent its use.

I just saw a video posted in one of these
threads of someone using the Dinovo with
the iMac 27" so I am guessing this is not
an issue.

So I went with the 21,5" iMac. And you know what...

I love it. It's huge. In shops seems small in comparison to the 27". But it's still huge when you are accustomed to a 13" MBP. I'm happy with my decision. The syncing is not nearly as much of an issue as I thought it would be. I'm just going to use my iDisk a lot and I will also use my iMac as the main machine. The MBP will primarily be used on the go and as a terrific HTPC.

Thanks for your help, to all of the people who posted in this thread :)

Glad you came up with a decision to purchase an iMac since you really wanted one instead of waiting for the next update!

I had the exact same dilemma. I bought an aluminum MacBook in April, 2009, but was yearning for a desktop screen size ever since I bought my 13" laptop. I purchased a refurbished 24" cinema display from MacMall.com for around $750. I was initially going to spring for the iMac, but I could not see going for the $300 more option(I purchased the magic mouse and wired keyboard for $125).

I just bought a 13,3" MBP in july and yesterday I bought the ACD 24". Now I really have best of both worlds. The MBP is so portable and a power horse too. When I travel it's easy to take it with me. But at home I missed a wider screen. 13,3" is pretty small to watch video's on. With the ACD I turned my MBP into a wonderfull desktop. I like the style of ACD. It's just perfectly fitted for the new MBP's. I can recommend everyone to choose this combination. You will get portable AND beautifull wide screen benefits.
