256 CBR or 256 VBR?

I've decided to upgrade my 192 kb collection to 256 but I'm not sure if I should go VBR or CBR. Anyyone have any opinions?

Definitely VBR. And always re-rip from the original source.

First off, I would recommend going to lossless format. Then you will not be re-ripping the collect again later. But if you must use 256K the only reason to use CBR is that some older and now rare devices can't handle VBR and some kinds of network streaming need CBR. But for general use VBR is better and lossless is a perfect copy.

And yeah, these would be rips from teh original sources. Trying to redigitize my CD collection....I got a lot of U2, Bruce and Wu-Tang Clan to go through (what a trifecta)

Storage is cheap, why not use Apple Lossless.
