I searched but couldn't really find what I was looking for.

Which is better, 256 encoding or 256(vbr) the new default. I have all my alums just plain 256 to match iTunes Plus. I'm like paranoid ocd haha and just wanted to find out which would be better or if I should re rip. Thanks!

VBR won't get you a better sound a this point only lower file size but maybe not even by that much depending on the song.

I use vbr but I doubt its going to matter. 256 is already a very high bitrate as the max is 320.

VBR just adjusts the Bitrate as the song needs it, so in sections where there is one flat tone etc, the Bitrate would be lowered. This Produces a smaller File.

I Dont use it, as i think it could affect quality (And i Rip at 320Kbps)

If anything, it should lower file size while keeping quality the same.
