One of the advantages of buying the highest storage is availability and I have a few family and friends who bought it like when 128GB was the largest.

So most of them barely used it and still have 90GB+.

How much do you have left?

I have yet to put everything on it but currently sitting at 197.99 GB free.

206.58 left lol. Exchanged my Silver for Black I found in store yesterday, only storage option available. I would of went for the 128 if they had it.

184.33Gb remaining (64.07 used) after restoring and installing a few extra apps and downloading my music library.

Mostly wanted the extra space for media when traveling, but I'm sure it'll get taken up with photos etc as well.

I have 212.43 GB available... but I haven't started shooting with Adobe Lightroom in camera RAW yet. That will consume space at a fair pace.

I have 207,93 GB left. I wanted to buy the i7 + Jet Black 128 GB but the only Jet Black available was of 256 GB.

200gb. I have 10 movies on there just because I can. Thought that would do more damage than it did. Will never fill this thing up.

I bought the 256GB because I hate having to choose which music to sync and not. First time I've been able to dump my entire library onto my phone. Additionally, 4K videos take up a lot of space. Its nice to have my entire library on the phone, and not have to worry about running out of space,

196gb left at the moment. I got the 256gb because I could get it a lot quicker that the 128gb I planned to get (same as I had last year). But then thought it would be a good idea anyway to have the extra space.

But this new iPhone must surely compress media differently to previous phones as I have a lot more stuff on it with a lot more space left (obviously taking into account the extra 128gb).

I had 40GB left on my 128GB

So far on my 256GB 7 plus

Thinking maybe I'm still downloading some so it should go down

60gb left. I bought the iPhone 6 128gb in 2014, my first smartphone ever, because I wanted to wait until I could get a phone that would at least hold my 80gb of lossless music (yes was nursing a 160gb iPod Classic!). After that I still had to swap video on and off - I keep video on there for the kids to avoid chewing through data, and I also watch video at the gym sometimes. I loved my 6 but now I finally have room for all the audio AND video and don't have to micromanage.

Regardless of the other improvements of the iPhone 7 vs the previous models, headphone jack drama, etc., my top priority was always more storage. If a 256gb model came out I was going to buy it, if it didn't I would have kept the 6 for another year or two. I'm thrilled with the 7 because it has the extra storage that is the most important thing to me!

I think 128gb is plenty for the average consumer.

I agree. Getting the highest model is the easiest to get on launch. Whether it's the 6S at 128GB last year or the SE at 64GB a few months ago.

Having said that, it's great that I don't have to Sync my iPhone as much to change my library around mostly Videos since I have 107 with me. LOL

after all the updates i have 173GB left. and with plenty of videos to take on my trip to barcelona it will eat up space then
