This update killed my battery life, it’s draining so much quicker than 26.2 which was amazing. Apple fix this

Have a look at your System Data under Settings>Storage and you should notice that figure going down over the next day or few days as your battery runtime simultaneously goes up. As said, Indexing is doing it's thing.

Yeah, 26.2 has been amazing for me on my SE 3, and it works quite well. I don’t think I’m updating any time soon…

I’m not sure why, but when they tweak a major version to implement security patches, or touch other things… they usually screw battery life. At least in my experience.

There is quite a lot of under the hood changes according to https://onejailbreak.com/blog/ios-26.2.1-update/ . And since this update isn't tested as much as lets say the 26.2 or upcoming 26.3 release there is a bigger chance that there will be bugs found after the release that needs to be fixed.

Havin said that, my 16 pro, 16 and 13 don't seem to have better or worse batterytime, but its to early to tell since I updated yesterday. Need to give it a few more days.

Its also a good think to have a look at the peripherals that you are using with your iphone and apps to see if there are any updates released a few days after the OS has been released.

Far too early to claim, let it index and adjust for a few days and then see if it's actually any worse or not.

This is a temporary thing as the indexing and update processing in the background. Check again in a few days.

Day 3 of iOS 26.2.1 on my 16 Pro Max and the drain is fast
  • Overnight: Dropped 5% (from 100% to 95%)
  • Morning: Lost another 10% (95% to 85%) in no time with only minimal use. Like texting
  • Battery Health: 99%

First time dealing with such high battery drain after iOS update or is it just me?

There seem to be a lot of "under the hood" updates in the 26.2.1 release. Considering that these type of releases ,compared to lets say 26.3, has less people testing it there might be issues that hasn't been found until its being released.

I would suggest having a look at forcing an update of apps. Having a look at devices connected to the phone (BT, Wifi etc) and see if there are any updates or reports of issues with this update.

I'm using a 16 pro and 16 and haven't noticed any major change, good or bad when it comes to battery drain.

My battery life is better if not same on 17PM.

No issues here. We have two iPhone 17 Pro Max's and have zero issue. Perhaps you should reset your iPhone and see how it performs.

Yesterday was first day with great battery since installing ios 26.2.1 iphone 17 pro sim version

How is your battery life now we’re nearly a week into the release of 26.2.1?

After 3-4 days battery life of my 14 Pro has been acceptable on 26.2.1. It does have a new battery with 100% health.

With mixed use of WiFi and 4/5G I can expect roughly 7-8hrs of screen on time which isn’t too bad given it’s 3200mAh capacity.

Yesterday I was mostly on 4/5G with less screen time than usual.
