The Obama/Osama news reminded me of headline missteps like the Thread Title. That was a headline (obviously) about the rising rate of teenage promiscuity, but it came off a bit different. Any other amusing headlines out there?

damn it. I was too slow you two already beat me to the wonderful irony of this thread title!

The OP headline, well...that's like a giant, slow-moving beach ball just bouncing along over our heads. How can you refrain from taking a swat? :D

I wish I had a scan of this newspaper page to email, but several years ago my local paper used to print the Ann Landers advice column on the same page as the birth/death/wedding announcements. So picture this... lovely big wedding picture of a beautiful bride & groom, directly above the Ann Landers headline: "Virgin Bride Worries About Wedding Night".

Too funny!!! :D :D :D

One of my favourites (although this is also technically hijacking), is when they said on the horse racing "Well of course this horse is a year older than when it competed last year". mmmmm yes funny that isn't it? :p I nearly sent it into Private Eye...

I heard a political commentator on the BBC talking about the Middle East, many years ago:
"As for the current crop of Arab leaders, well, they're no great shakes".
Honest. Word for word.
