My wife just rang me during my lunch break, it's a regular thing, we talk every day whilst at work.

anyway..

her: I just swung past the apple store"... (here we go)

me: I hope you didnt spend any money?

her: NO! but Ben was very helpful as usual and he ordered me that ipod armband we were talking about...

me: right.

her: and he ordered me this little pouch thingo that i can put the nike+ sensor in, on my shoes, it was only $20... (aus dollars)

me: oh okay

her: and remember when we went in there and tried those wacom tablet's? and that guy at the time was useless? well Ben downloaded me some trial software which might do what I'm after, so we can try that out

me: right.

me: so you spent $70?

her: no

me: but the nike+ armband, and the little pouch thing.. thats $70

her: well, I didnt spend any money, not physically, yet.

me: (thinking...)

me: I guess $70 isnt bad...

hahahaha...

Man, she's a sucker for apple stuff or apple related stuff, or things to do with apple. But the problem is, so am I! :)

doesnt help that the apple store is a short walk from her work, and she can go in there at lunch time (almost every lunch time) *sigh*

wait till I tell her that I'm going to order a 30" ACD. heh heh

yer I was waiting for someone to mention BEN.. haha, naw, he's cool, or should I say, a great salesperson? hah

You're not going to spend AUD $3200 on a 30" ACD, you know. You're going to spend $6400 on a ACD, because I bet your wife now thinks she can spend the equivalent of $3200 on Apple stuff because that's how much YOU spent. ;)

Mabey if he doesn't already have a Mac Pro to go with that 30" ACD she'll buy one to go with it. and I would be worried about Ben.;)

I'll be sure to let ben know that your worried about the way he treats my wife when she walks in the store :)

abstract: 30" acd for me... diamond ring for her... hahaha

mrkramer: we have a MBP ea, no real need for a mac pro. yet. ;)

Heh. I have a customer with his and hers Powerbook G4's and his and hers 20" Apple displays. They set them up side by side on a long table, it's cute ...:p

not far off! his and hers desks, chairs, etc

Wowsers! That's quite a his and hers collection!

Where are you going to put Ben's desk?

I do have to say, though, I too am a sucker for Apple stuff. Although I defeated the urges and did decide to get rid of my iSight, because I don't use it. And in all honesty, I make excellent use of almost everything else Apple I've ever bought.

I'm single; so, I don't know how marriage works (yes, I know how it works; but, I cannot accept it; thus I prefer not to be hitched). But, as long as she spends her own money she earns from her job, then, I think there won't be any significant harm in it.

Believe me, that's not how marriage works.

It is in my home. I make my own money, hubby makes his. We have our own bills and then we split the rest. He has the 1500.00 a month house payment and I have the utilities.

Works out great. If I need any money all I have to do is ask and vica versa.

Wow! We've been doing it all wrong. Time to take the hubby off the joint accounts and start going on my own spending sprees without discussing it with him first. Forget the whole partnership thing....

In all seriousnesss, we started off with each of us having the same budget of "fun money" each month--whatever wasn't used one month rolled over to the next--but after a while it just became too much of a hassle. We'd still ask each other for opinions on how to spend it so the fun money purchases were never made just as a result of one person's want. It was still pretty much just like we were spending the money together. Now we have the same discussions without the hassle of having to keep track of how much each person has for their fun money account. It's our means of performing checks and balances, I guess, and it works pretty well for us.

hah... well we only really know Ben, he sold us our MBP's when we went to purchase.. last year.

the store isnt really an actual 'apple store' as such, it's a store that sells mainly apple, but also other stuff like digi cameras, lcd tv's, cases, etc...

There is no actual 'apple store' here.

The shop is called 'digilife', there's three in Perth now i believe.

We've bought four ipods, two MBP's, and various other accessories there, we are treated well so we go back!

It's nice when staff go out of their way to help you out, esp if you want to try some gear out in the shop (demo)

Weird.

Seems like the house payment would be way more than the utilities. What about equality of the sexes?;)
