27" Base iMac - picked up at my local store! - Dallas

Just letting you guys know that if you have not yet bought one yet you should try and call your stores. I when and bought mine today at my local store.

I kinda feel bad for the ones that ordered theres way before me and still have not got theirs.

Thanks for sharing this info! I'm also waiting to receive the 27 inch base model ($1799) that you purchased and would appreciate any thoughts/comments you have about your iMac computer.

so far I am loving it!! Everything is going good with it!

The screen is beautiful, nice and clear. The resolution is crazy - not used to having so much real estate to have files open and all that.

The speakers are MEH, but I did not expect anything special from them and I have my own speakers so its all good.

Have not yet got to play any games and test out the video card.

surfing the web my iMac runs between 45-60W which is nice to help save on the elec costs.

boots up fast enough for me ... maybe like 20-30 secs to get to log in screen.

opening programs and installing stuff is fast enough.

I am at 37-40C surfing the internet ...
