My iMac makes these intermittent noises, like static. Seems to occur only when surfing the net using Firefox. Initially I thought it was my external speakers and had planned to replace them. However, I went on an extended vacation and powered everything off before I left. When i returned and the noise started again I realized I hadn't turned those speakers back on. Is it static? Or something Firefox is generating?
