Hello, I am looking for a wall mount for my IMac but I don't want to spend a lot on the ones apple has on their website. I bought wall mounts for all my TVs from Amazon but am not sure if wall mounts for TVs will work for the IMac or not.

Any suggestions or info on this would be appreciated.

The problem with wall mounts is that your iMac does not have any way to attach standard (VESA) mount adapters.
The mounts that you might find at Amazon generally won't work, unless your iMac is a 2011 model or older, before the extra-thin iMacs were introduced. Those older models could have an accessory VESA adapter installed that replaces the stand. Newer iMacs can't be modified in that way.
Apple DOES sell iMacs that have ONLY a VESA mount. And, those iMacs can ONLY be attached to VESA mounts, and do not have the usual "foot", and can't be changed to the "foot" style stand.
The wall mounts that Apple sells are for those special iMac models that have the VESA mount, which is a custom order iMac.

and relevant quote from that item's page:
Compatible only with iMac that has built-in VESA mount adapter
Here's one of those VESA-mount iMacs that Apple sells.

Notice that it does not have a foot to stand on! Only VESA mounts...

If you already have your iMac, you can add an adapter that clamps around the "feed-through" hole on the stand. Here's an example of that kind of adapter.
