I have a 6 month old 27" LED cinema display (not Thunderbolt) that has some rather bizarre looking bright areas along the bottom and the right corner. These are not hot pixels but larger areas in freeform looking shapes. I'm guessing it is something with the backlighting but not sure.

It is very visible but I have not had good luck trying to get a photo or two of the problem. I just can't seem to hit it right with a decent exposure.

A couple of questions that I hoping to have some help with. First, has anyone else experienced something like this? I've done some searches but not coming up with a similar situation.

Also, I bought the monitor from Amazon. Can I take it to an Apple store or do I need to send back to Apple myself? Nearest store is an hour drive but still hoping they might be able to assist.

Thanks.

Still hoping to see if anyone has had a similar experience. Sure wish I could capture an image of what this looks like. Rather bizarre and annoying. Thanks.
