Hey All,

I know this has been covered by others.
I have the 27" Apple LED Display and have been having serious issues with it.

It's the usual case of brightness and sound and USB ports all not working, The brightness slider disappears and sound goes back to the main computer.

I reinstalled Lion yesterday hoping it may fix it, but it didn't.
I then reinstalled Snow Leopard hoping that would fix it, but it didn't.
I've tried it on different computers and still get the same problems.

It's running all the latest firmware etc.

Has anybody found any solution for this blinding problem?
The screen is still within warranty, is it worth purchasing the extended applecare or should it be fixable/replaceable as is?

I love this screen, but I'd love it even more if I could use it at night without feeling like I'm looking at the sun!

Cheers.

If its not working and still under warranty then go and get it fixed, extended warranty gives you more time but not any special treatment IMHO.

If you can get it fixed by apple there a couple of programs that may help mitigate your problems, at least a little.

F.lux is wonderful for night-time computing. Changes the overall white point of the monitor though, so if you're doing color-critical work, maybe isn't an option. Nonetheless, I recommend it highly.

There's also an app called Shades, but I haven't tried that and I'm not sure it will work given that it may be a hardware issue, but it's worth a blast.

Obviously best to phone Apple in the meantime, at least they can document the problem for you.

I had the same problems with my Thunderbolt display - exchanged for new one and it works fine.

Thanks for the help.
Attached is a screen grab of the Reset Tool, it doesn't allow me to hit the reset button?
