Yes, I agree.
We got the MP when we had to deal with the short turnaround on that show.
Just one last question, what do you use for a scratch disk and storage?
For a scratch disk, I have a 500GB 7200RPM internal drive where my optical drive used to be in my MacBook Pro. My boot drive is a 256GB SSD. When I'm done with a show, I move it to my archive. For archive and storage I have a Rev2 FW800 Drobo with 8TB storage specifically for the backup of project, render, and source footage of the show that I edit on my laptop. I have a DroboPro for my personal storage and archive outside of that show. So my setup is "Capture, edit, output off my MBP" then "Archive and store on Drobo". I backup project files off-site as well, and store the tapes (the beauty of having physical media...). Then my iMac is the home base for everything, serves media to my AppleTVs, downloads torrents, transcodes, gaming...it does all the daily grunt work while I'm being productive on my MBP.
