hi,

what if i have a PC GPU in the latest 2019 Mac Pro which doesn't have any USB-C like the Radeon7, how can i connect the 27" thunderbolt display to it?

If your card is supported... through one of the other thunderbolt 3 ports. The Mac Pro supports all graphics cards which are also supported in the eGPUs.

I would like the thunderbolt display connects to the radeon 7 and it works fine with the 580x through one of the TB3 port.

The 2019 Mac Pro has enough thunderbolt connections.
Needs a TB connection coming off the graphics card, or the internal video card’s signal must be fed back to system TB ports — neither of which is possible off a PC video card which is what the OP was asking about (presuming my interpretation of the question was correct).

I thought it was possible to connect a display to any thunderbolt port of the mac pro. Apple states on their website you can use any graphics card supported by the eGPUs in the new mac pro, not all of thos cards have a TB3 port. So they must work one way or another.

I don't have the latest mac pro so I can't test this, does the topic starter or anyone else have one to try if all works fine if you connect the display to any other port which isn't the graphics card itself?

The OP was asking specifically about a PC video card. If he/she wants to run it off the card that came with the Mac Pro, all he/she needs is Apple's TB3-TB2 adapter and then plug it in to any TB port he/she chooses.

The OP stated he/she specifically wants to run an Apple Thunderbolt Display, which only accepts a Thunderbolt input, off a PC card (installed in his Mac Pro; see the screenshot posted above). The output of a generic PC graphics card cannot be fed back to the Mac Pro's TB ports (generic cards are missing Apple's proprietary connectors). Any standard DP/HDMI monitor would run off the PC card, but not Apple's Thunderbolt Display.

I have one of these displays in my basement... it will not work off a simple displayport signal.

exactly, i bought another used led cinema display off ebay then. i'll leave the thunderbolt display with my 2013 mac pro then.
seems like i need to wait for a pc card that come with a thunderbolt connections or wait for apple to release the vega II card separately.
