MP 7,1 28 core? Ram?

1) There are surprisingly few benchmarks for real-world performance difference between 16 and 28 cores. What's your experience?
2) does 6x 8gb + 6x 32gb enable six channels? Does that combo perform better than simply 6x32 gb?

I think, according to the Lenovo memory scaling paper (page 19), this would be a "near-balanced" scenario, and there's a 3% bandwidth performance loss, compared to 12 identical dimms. That's a tiny penalty compared to some of the bandwidth variations of other configurations, summarised on pages 18 and 19.
