I have this bite that I can't identify. It must have come from camping last Tuesday night. It's hard, and it hurts, and it makes my back ache. Ibuprofen helps. I guess I had better go see a doctor.

Any advice from the vast expanse of intelligence that is MacRumors?

Thanks in advance. Not great pics, sorry.

We could also play 'identify the body part'

Are you sure you're not just growing another nipple there?

I'd go see a doctor asap. You live in a region for Brown Recluse. The addage is, "if you didn't see what bit you, it was a spider". Get well, bro.

I'm no proctologist but the bite looks severe. My analysis is that you need to see a doctor, asap.

The distribution of the brown recluse is much larger than that link suggests... U of F entomology is a little broader, and I know people from Florida to North Carolina on the east coast that have seen a brown recluse spider, including me.;)

ITA with all the previous posters. And seriously, if you experience some really nasty symptoms (i.e. vomiting, shooting pain, numbness, whatever) get thee to the ER. Don't wait till Monday. :(

christ go see a doctor, not the internet! I mean damn! If you die from this I'm simply going to nominate you for a darwin award.

I am...I did this more for comic relief than anything. :D

I figure we help so many people on MR, what wouldn't we know about ass-bites? Problem is, I waited until the weekend when everyone's closed. I think there's a small clinic open on Sunday here, so I'm going to check them out tomorrow.

And spicyapple, I think I would only need the proctor doctor if the bite were internal!

No real sickness other than just not feeling great and being a little achy. The bite itself is very tender, however.

Could be. I've seen them in Missouri, too. iSaint lives in the region shown though, so that's why I posted it.

Are you sure it's a bit and not a pimple? Some pimples swell really big, and don't really feel like pimples, but I'm pretty sure they are. They also look like that, sometimes. I get them occasionally, but only if you sit on a hard, uncomfortable surface for a long time.

I actually thought that at first. But with the (possible) infection I don't think so.

If you got that last Tuesday, iSaint, it's looking like a "stay away" bite and not a "die b@%$tch" bite. Spiders don't always hit people with their full potential. Has it been bothering you for long?

The pictures could be a few different things.....

Maybe a spider bite or maybe even a 3rd nipple...

But if you look down to the 3rd picture, it looks like a swollen belly button on a gut overhanging boxers!!! Hahaha....looks great. :)

This is not something to **** with. Get a professional opinion tomorrow. Had I waited longer for my spider bite, I may of been fighting to keep my arm...One of my co-workers spent a week in the hospital fighting for hers...
