Close this thread please. this is getting ridiculous. There's a thread with the same problem right on the same page. i mean COME ON are you really that lazy?

I think there's been quite a few threads on this, but anyway...

Matte. Better color reproduction and lack of noticeable glare.

Glossy gives an apparent increase in contrast/saturation (similar to a glossy print vs. a matte print). My photo output with the matte (previous was 17" G4), matches very closely with the display (Epson 2200). The glossy would throw that off significantly, IMHO (aside from not wanting the glare).

There are many threads - matte vs glossy. Do search. They are same as poll that user posts matte/glossy explanation.

This is very headache.

Agreed, but my 2 cents.

Glossy. Heres why, colours pop way more. Movies and pics look awesome. Glare...ahhh not a problem IMO. Not going into a big speil about it, but if you never used the matte you won't worry about it.

O.K. so matte may be better for actual photoshopping, but IMO using a trackpad for adjusting more than 1 or 2 pics is way to awkward and cumberson. I just store them on the MBP and fiddle with them on my 21" LCD when I get home.

I picked Matte, just because I don't want colors getting screwed up when I'm editing photos.:)

I went for matte as, glossy screen on macbook, give me a head ache. Also I have always had matte on my previous apple laptops.

I prefer the matte. Everytime I look into a glossy screen, all I notice is the glare.

soon will come a new bread of displays that will let one change from glossy to matte just by changing an option in system prefs, wouldn't that be cool?

matee! Glossy looks like a sweaty pizza delivery boy's forehead on a hot August day.:D

glossy all the way

The anti-glare coating on the matte screens is really noisy and looks pretty bad, particularly if you're working with images and textures. It's somewhat visible on the glossy screens, but the sharpness of the glossy screens completely beats out the fuzziness of the matte screens.
