Our sources have submitted an indication of the staging of a probable event in Regent's Park, London, UK on the 7th of July, 2007.

Emailed invitations have been apparently been received by key opinion-formers, related hangers-on and all-round liggers in the Mac community (see below).

It is also rumoured that vast and improbable quantities of sun, alcohol, snacks, music and aspirin are on order for the assembled guests. Also rumoured are the appearance of a large yellow inflatable banana and a tube of water-soluble lube. Although speculation exists, this last item's intended purpose is currently unknown.

When? 1pm till late — Saturday, 7th July 2007

What? Bring drinks, food, iPods & playlists, blankets, frisbees and other picniccy things...

Thought this might be an apple event and was going to say how it might not be such a good day being the anniversary of the bombings. But they cake looks good, i might be able to come because Uni will be out for the summer so will be in jolly old Watford. (Well i actually live in Bushey and usually get the train from Moor park)
 
I will be there with booze, mixers, chairs and food of some kind in tow.

We were planning a New York picnic until everyone found out that Don Ditty guy was going to show up. :p

Chairs are good... figuring out how to bring a couple of my own. My tired and old boney arse can't handle too much sitting on the ground.

The rest of us will be in bottles of spirits. But that's a shame; there might just be a secret prize for the person that travels the furthest to make it. ;)

So yeah, 12 weeks from tomorrow, it's all on. Last year, we had about 20 or more people throughout the day including many infamous MR 'faces' so stop making your excuses and get down there to have a fab time.

I have some pretty standard picnic chairs though deck chairs are very appealing; though they are somewhat inconvenient to carry. My young not quite so boney anymore arse can't take much either these days so I'll sort something out.

I'll be at the London one with a few bottles of spirits in tow and my 'tar will be coming too!:)
 
So I'll be walking through central London with the 170cm inflatable banana again then :D

I guarantee you that our event will leaving a far smaller carbon footprint than a huge event in Hyde Park. So you'll be doing the environment a favour by joining us; it's the right thing to do. And you know it in your heart... ;)
 
Didn't someone bring a cooler filled with ice or something last year? I'm concerned that people are going to bring all kinda of spirits/mixers/tiquela and pimms and they're going to get warm, who brought one last time?

Ah, good point. I have a pretty good cool bag I can use.
 
Chill your mixers in the fridge and your spirits in the freezer beforehand :)

Theres never any room in my freezer and my father would probably not be too happy about me taking a couple of bottles of spirits off to a park picnic so i was just going to pick something up on the way, :/. I'll see if I can crash at a friend's the night before and take them allong.


Oh and I take it skunk's not going to be bringing who he brought last time... .
 
hahaha..too bad i live in the states... i would go..i would...and id bring a 40 oz. and ice... well its good to know you guys will be cutting loose...what isthis large bananna you speak of? Is this some joke? Or are you serious..... anyway...a MacRumors Picnic.. Who woulda' thought....:) :D :apple:
