On my iPhone 12 I’ve been getting the “oops we ran into a problem, please try again” for the last couple of months when I’ve needed to log back in after timing out. I had originally used the Google Authenticator app and then the Authy app when I upgraded to the 12. Wasn’t pleased with Authy so switched back to GA. Inevitably I have to use a backup code to log in. Sometimes the backup codes don’t work as well, as recently as last evening. Is there a solution to this that isn’t just turning off 2FA?
It’s worth mentioning I haven’t had this issue on my iPad mini or my MBP.

Have you tried turning it off entirely and then turning it back on?

I think I did turn it off briefly a few months ago but then turned it back on, within ten minutes. Could be wrong though so I’ll try that and see how it goes.
Edit: disabled 2FA then re-enabled it and saved the backup codes. Logged out and back in no problem. Once my account times out again should determine if this fixed the issue. Thanks for the help.
