It's the only reason I upgraded, and I haven't been letdown at all. In fact the 2GB is making more of a positive impression than I could have hoped for!

This evening I have been on Safari, the Ebay app, the Amazon app, the Messaging app, the Phone app, Whatsapp, Sky Sports, a newspaper app and the Notes app. I've just gone back to them - and some of them I was using hours ago - and all of them are in the same state, exactly as I left them. Chuffed to bits!
Every last one would have reloaded on my 6+ two minutes later.

In my opinion the best thing about the 6S Plus also.

Like on other post, they really screwed us 6/6 plus over.

I agree. It's great not having safari reload after I go back to it. It's about time!

Yeah, it's downhill from here and we'll probably end up back at the iPhone 6 reloading state in two or three years.

Seriously though, the iPhone 7 and 7S should be ok but I'll probably be giving the iPhone 8 a miss unless they increase the RAM again. No way on earth am I suffering iPhone 6+ style reloads ever again.

I wonder what happened to all those folks, in past years, who were claiming that increasing RAM would result in battery drain?

iOS + 2gb of RAM is huge. Absolutely nothing has refreshed on my 6S+ since day one.

I knew last year that they did it, so I would buy a new phone this year.

    Planned obsolescence

It is "enough" for banana users. For someone that lives and breathes iOS and work on it, such as myself, not even more RAM would be enough. Give me all the RAM and I'll find a way to use it

No they didn't. You chose to buy it. I didn't and waited for the S plus.

They should have named the 6/6+, iPhone 6R. R for reloading.

For some, maybe even many, it is. I have no problem with it. No reason to assume that everyone has the same needs.

The 6/6+ are far from obsolete for many people. A lot of people I know would consider one a significant upgrade to their current phone.

Maybe not quite that old, but I know a fair number of people with pre-5s iPhones.

I'm amazed by it too. I can't get over how much better the phone is to use now.

2GB will probably be okay for the 7, but for upgrades after that, I'm definitely waiting to find out how much RAM there is before I give Apple my money.

It wouldn't be an upgrade on an iPhone 5 for me. I much preferred my i5 over my 6+. YMMV.

Sunking did really consistently hate 6+ 1gb so can't say he's trolling.

Plus I hated it's lack of ability to retain anything. I loved the big screen though and good leap over the regular 6 for the big screen effect but glad to have only had to "deal" 10 months since I bought it in November.

The jailbreak journey was fun with it but now it's the real deal with 9.0.2 jailbreak even waiting for so many tweaks to get updated.

I could tell what I was missing when I got an air2 a few weeks before 6s+

    That 2gb

I will have to agree, I almost got the 6+ last year to replace my iPhone 4S. However, the sluggishness of the 6+ along with the reloading actually made me hold off. I am no power user but messages and safari are consistently my two most used apps. I had issues with both while trying out the 6+ for about 2 weeks, eventually just stuck with the iPhone 4S which never left iOS 6 and ran amazingly.

I am personally glad I waited for the 6S+. This is easily the smoothest phone I have used with an OS I enjoy, and this is coming from messing with android devices in the interim of 4 years looking for a phone
